LIVE | Israel-Iran conflict: Trump says won't kill Iran's Khamenei 'for now' , posts ‘unconditional surrender’

Amid spiralling tensions in West Asia, US President Donald Trump on Monday shared a text message screenshot on Truth Social filled with religious overtones, which was sent by his envoy to Israel, Mike Huckabee. The message has drawn attention for its spiritual framing of Trump’s leadership and its historic comparisons, including a reference to former President Harry Truman and the events of 1945.
The message, written in a devotional tone, reads: “You have many voices speaking to you Sir, but there is only ONE voice that matters. HIS voice.” Huckabee, who is perceived as a Christian Zionist added: “God spared you in Butler, PA( refering to his attempted assasination) to be the most consequential President in a century—maybe ever.”
The former Arkansas governor, who is in Israel on what Trump describes as a special mission, says he was sent there to ensure the US flag “flies above our embassy.” He vowed not to abandon his post, writing: “Our flag will NOT come down! You did not seek this moment. This moment sought YOU!”
Huckabee also invoked President Truman, who led the US through the final phase of World War II and authorised the use of nuclear weapons on Japan. “No President in my lifetime has been in a position like yours. Not since Truman in 1945,” the message reads, suggesting that Trump faces decisions of similar historic weight.
Though the message stops short of mentioning any specific policy or decision, it comes amid heightened speculation over US involvement in Israel’s confrontation with Iran, including reported Israeli attacks on nuclear-linked sites inside Iran.
